Florida / Maryland - Extensive renovations led by Jason Straka, ASGCA of Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design kept licensed installer Southeastern Golf busy during 2015. The Oaks Club in Osprey, FL was completely revamped to offer a more playable and enjoyable experience for the members. Superintendent Nick Kearns, GCSAA did an excellent job of keeping his members informed of progress throughout the project. He routinely posted drone footage (which offered some cool looks at the BBB installation process) and conducted numerous construction tours. The Oaks Club has reopened to rave reviews.
Straka and Southeastern were also charged with updating Hunt Valley GC in Phoenix, MD just north of Baltimore. Reshaping and drainage work combined with the installation of Better Billy Bunkers will greet Hunt Valley members as they enter 2016. The renovations even included a cool "two-tiered" bunker (pictured here).
Finally, the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando, FL made the switch to BBB in 2015 after seeing its benefits and ease of installation from a trial in 2014. Just shy of 150,000 s/f of bunkers were converted to BBB during an extremely quick and efficient renovation by Southeastern.
